This custom shopping cart is like your typical shopping cart, in which it allows customers to add products on the company website for purchase. Although, this shopping cart was developed with the customer in mind. One problem with many shopping carts on the market is the customer will typically add items to their cart, but then leave their computer and finish up shopping later.

Upon returning the user quickly discovers that their shopping cart has ultimately "timed-out" and all of the items added to their cart are no longer there. They have an empty cart. This type of situation typically frustrates customers and ultimately leads to a lost sale for the company. Customers are happy when they can start shopping today and come back tomorrow to checkout without issue.

This shopping cart allows for the maintaining of a customer's added items for a predetermined amount of time. Typically one month, but any time frame is valid.

This shopping cart application was integrated into the client's backend. Their backend was a company-unique custom Content Management System.

The functionality of this shopping cart allowed the user to:

  1. Add, update quantity, and remove cart items
  2. Consolidated multiple quantities of an item dynamically
  3. It allowed for viewing an item description and item images directly in the cart
  4. Show each item price, and calculate the extended price for multiple quantites of an item
  5. Calculate the cart subtotal
